My deck was destroyed during Hurricane Sandy. Although money was an issue since needing to replace my entire first floor, the price for the Trex Transcend wasn't that much more than wood, considering the durability and ease of maintenance the Trex will provide. I chose Ako builders because I had every confidence that Ark would deliver what he promised. The builders were very professional; the build was precise and finished to perfection. My deck is beautiful. I selected the Tree House finish, and it looks more like wood than real wood. Very pleased with the outcome and a couple of neighbors have already commented how nice it is and asked who built my deck. Sometimes reviews seem a little too good to be true--but not with this company.

My husband and I were looking to redo our deck. We contacted numerous contractors who were either over priced or unprofessional. We called Ako builders. Ark came to our house for a free estimate. When we decided to do the job Ark advised us it might be in the middle of June as he was extremely busy. We advised him we needed the job done sooner and he made it happen. Not only did he start the job earlier than we expected, but the job was completed in just 3 days. The workers were polite, experienced and professional. The deck is beautiful. He also built us as gate at the stairs for safety since we have 2 young daughters.We especially liked the fact the Ark would ring our bell at the end of each day to see if we had any questions and or concerns. "In the summer 2011 we had 2 decks that needed to be done: off the kitchen, and by the pool. Our original contractor took over 2 months to build the pool deck, and almost a month to clean up afterwards. Tiered of waiting for them to show up for the 2 week, i contacted Ako Builders, and got their estimate for the work. They were done in 2 weeks, including clean-up and some extra projects that came up while they were working on our deck.
